I'm a new Patient Instructions

Prior to coming for your root canal treatment, please take the time to fill in your new patient forms for us. We appreciate you doing this. A note: if you are filling out your paperwork from work, you may have filtering software, such as firewalls, that will prevent you from completing your forms.

The day of your appointment, you should eat before your treatment.  You can expect to be numb for a few hours following treatment, so you will definitely want to avoid chewing in that area, and in particular, avoid chewing on the treated tooth untill it is restored by your general dentist.

The sooner you have your tooth restored after treatment, the better; however, it is highly advisable to wait no longer than two weeks before having your tooth restored after treatment.

If you plan on having Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) at your treament, you should eat a light meal beforehand.  You will be able to drive yourself to and from you appointment as the Nitrous Oxide will be out of your system before we release you.

You will also most likely receive a prescription for an anti-inflammatory, Motrin.  You should take it as directed, as the area around your tooth may be irritated and achy.  This medication should ease or relieve you of any symptoms you might expect.

Please remember that we will bill your insurance as a courtesy to you, and all estimated co-payments are due at the time your services are rendered.
